    A bit of history first.

Purchased in Oct 09, belt was off upon delivery.
Fixed onsite but belt off again within 3 months.
Fixed onsite but belt off again within another 6 months.
Fixed onsite, belt badly worn replaced along with pulley (teeth chewed).

The drum is now making a very slight scraping noise when turned. If I pull on the pulley and turn the drum, the noise disappears. I suspect the pulley teeth are starting to go again. Does this sound plausible? I think its never been right from day one.

Also, the belt has to go on the outer threads or it comes straight off. Its been like this from new.

If it is the pulley, do you just remove the centre retaining nut and swap over?

    Thanks

It’s more likely the actual bearings and drum shaft are the issue here. 🙁

Candy are notorious for drum and drum bearing failures so your fault unlikely to be any exception. As a test, with the belt off, you should be able to spin the drum and it should rotate freely and relatively silently. There should also be no perceivable lateral movement of the inner drum and its shaft.

Oh, you will need to buy a new belt for it by the way as those stretch belts wear very quickly too!

    Thanks for info.

Drum is noise free etc when spun without belt.

It is also very stable / quiet when on high speed rinse cycle.

The noise is only noticable when spun slowly.

Then you’re probably hearing the inner drum rubbing against the rubber door seal lip. More noticable if the drum and seal are dry by the way, wet the seal and the noise may dissappear.
