Candy CN100T Auto W/M – Rotating Timer knob

Went to this today to fit door gasket – fitted door gasket and then cust says “Oh by the way” as they do “used machine and the last twice the timer knob starts to rotate halfway through programe… Tested machine and timer knob starts rotating after first rinse and spin..
Check machine on last rinse and spin – works ok..

Questions..

Does the timer knob rotating on these machines indicate a self diagnostic fault or is there something wrong with selector switch (slave unit?) or module to cause this type of fault? If so which one likely to be cause?

If it is a self diagnostic fault any ideas as the pump, motor, water valves and pressure system all seem ok?

Been 30 years in the trade but the way they keep changing machines these days I feel like an amature 😥 It seems harder to keep up with where manifactures are coming from these days :rolls:

These Hoover/Candy selector switches often do this. A new one is only about £13 + at MPt, or dismantle old one and clean the contacts/slider board with carbon tet or alcohol. Usually works, otherwise board to emw for repair.
