Ok i came across this one owner dryer today , t looks like its had light use, the previous owner said it wouldn’t start, but when they removed back cover and twizzled the fan it would start, mmmm why they didnt just press start and push start the drum , which is what i did when i got it home , so i then swooped the start capacitor and bingo it starts first time, However after 15/16 mins it cuts out and will not restart until its apparently cooled down, Im thinking the start capacitor i popped in which was 2nd hand goes faulty after 15mins and works again once cooled down, it stops straight after it paused to reverse tumble, does this sound feasable/possible Tia all

to start a single phase induction motor you have to have 2 phases. the capacitor alters the timing and causes a second phase in a seperate winding. The higher the value the more current will flow through the second winding. the second winding is kept on while the motor is running and adds to the power output
