Modern Hoover/Candy condensors are not easy to work on my engineers used to hate them. Best advise I can give is “There are no shortcuts” if you try you will get angry and frustrated. Take your time and literally strip it one screw at a time. It is possible to put the drum back in and then refit the belt. Common faults are heaters (Gias engineers cut and butt connect the wires) rear drum bearings, condensors block, jockey wheels get noisy, the drum shaft often shears off (kit available) they leak water from the ducting at the back and models with autosense need a good earth path through the rear of the drum. In short I agree they are not a good design.
“Good Luck” 😥 😥
