Candy CP2411F/9 Fridge/Freezer. Freezer not getting cold.

My Neighbour has the above fridge freezer.

The freezer section is not cold enough.
I have read the frost free guide on here.

I am wondering if it just needs a good defrost.
Or is it more likely to be a fault?

Apparantly the freezer has frosted up in the past.
He defrosted with a hair dryer.

Any advice?

Switch it off (pull the plug) for 24 hours with the door open in a warm room.

BTW – Be careful using a hair dryer especially if the fridge freezer is plugged in as most of these models have thermal fuses mounted near the evaporator assembly. It will fail if you get it too warm, I’ve seen it happen.
