Candy CPC290 Green Light Flashing

Hi,
My 18 month old Candy CPC290 Frost free fridge/freezer has developed the following fault:

The Green light at the top of the fridge compartment starts to flash and you can hear a relay clicking. When you open the door, the interior light flashes with it. If you switch it to Super (for a fast freeze) the yerllow super light comes on and flashes along too.

It has been doing this for the past week or so, but usually stops doing it after a few hours. Switching off for 1/2 hour doesn’t clear the flashing. When you switch it back on, you can hear the normal freezer rumble, but then that stops and the flashing commences.

We are due to move house in the next 2-3 weeks and will have to probably get a new fridge freezer to fit in the new kitchen so don’t realy want the expense of buying the wrong size now or cost to fix it when a replacement is imminent.

Any ideas as to what the fault is? Will it survive for a month or so until the new one can be obtained?

Sounds like lose connection somewhere try and fit the fridge plug top in another socket outlet and see if the faults still there, if it is the fault is with the appliance

Hi Paul
sounds like the control module is faulty but i have had trapped wires behind the facia short to earth cause this problem, if you have a go yourself PULL THE PLUG and ISOLATE it from the MAINS SUPPLY.
