ParticipantHi, I’m having problems with a Candy CPCA 291 FFK. The freezer is working well but the fridge won’t cool below about 12C. There is only one control on the Candy and it works with the freezer okay and does reduce the fridge temperature slightly but I’m running it almost flat out to get the fridge down to 12C. The fan in the frezer compartment is working, the door seals are all good and the fridge drain is clear.
Any idea’s please.cheers

It may be worth completely defrosting it, there may be an ice build up in the freezer stopping the cold air reaching the fridge 🙂

Hi Dave,
I have tried completely defrosting it ( 2 days) and the fridge behaved as before so I’m assuming it’s not an ice buildup.CaptainK

Electronically controlled unit, one for an engineer to be honest in that case.
Check the repairs@ link below, that should provide one for you 🙂

Dave,
Had a good look at this fridge freezer last night, there is a fan located in the roof of the freezer compartment with a chamber that seems to pass cold air across the roof of the freezer. I cannot find any system that cools down the fridge other than via the roof of the freezer. Am I correct? The fan seems to come on okay so I can’t see why the fridge is not cooling enough.
Any idea where the control board is located, there is a relay sitting on the heat exchanger in the back of the freezer. I would like to check if the temperature sensors are working okay.CaptainK

Hi Captaink,
this appliance has what we call a wet wall fridge evaporator located on the back of the fridge interior, with the symtoms you describe its engineer time im afraid, as this sounds like a system that is short of refrigerant.
