ParticipantI’m looking for suggestions on what the problem might be. On a hot wash the machine washed but didn’t spin and an error code E03 came up. On just a spin programme it wouldn’t spin with a load in but started to spin without a load but didn’t complete the cycle before the E03 came back up. The manual says E03 is “water does not drain away”. I’ve checked the hoses for blockages and replaced the pump. I’ve checked the bushes and they look fine and the belt is fine.

Have you looked at the small narrow hose going in to the pressure switch.. This could be blocked and the machine will not spin if it thinks there is to much water left in the drum… Disconnect the pipe and try blowing in to it… If it works after reconnecting, then this is the area you need to look at..
It could be blocked up with soap residue and needs to be thoroughly cleaned out or replaced..

Thanks Martin Can you say where the pressure switch would be? I just don’t see anything under the machine?

Sorry, it’s usually located at the top,it’s a small cylinder shaped device, with a small tube attached to it…could be a clear,or black tube.. And the other end of the tube leads down to somewhere on the drum, and is attached to a plastic bottle type attachment… This is the part that could be blocked up..
Pressure switch usually held on by one screw , power off first.. Then remove tube and blow down it..Marrin

Thank you for your help Martin, gave it a good blow but the problem remains. Going to try a new pressure switch and see how it goes from there.
Kind regards,

Try disconnecting the outlet hose under the sink, then put on a drain cycle and hold the hose in to a bowl..see how fast the water comes out.. If that seem ok,check the waste connector for blockages..
I doubt it’s the actual pressure switch..though if all else fails, its worth a tryMartin

Latest position is as follows Martin:-
Fitted a new pressure switch and the problem is still there.
On a drain cycle the water is pushed out at a good rate and the machine quickly empties.
I’ve taken all the waste off and was able to feel the drum without finding any obstruction.
Would fitting a pump to the pressure switch hose to get a good blow through be likely to damage anything?

Hi mike
First off… Don’t blow directly, or indirectly in to the pressure switch as this will damage it..
You can disconnect the hose at the pressure switch, then blow down the rubber tubing..hopefully dislodging ( albeit temporarily ) any gunge that may have accumulated…
Also You say that you can feel the drum, without any obstruction, but have you checked the waste connector that you took the hose off, in order to check the water flow from the pump.?
Also did the machine do a spin cycle whilst you had the waste hose disconnected form the under sink connector ?
Let me know how you get onMartin

Hello again Martin,
Latest position is that I replaced the pressure switch and blew down the hose to clear any possible blockage. Could hear the blowing in the drum so that seems to be fine. Have tried the machine on a full wash and it stops with around 33 minutes to go just after it has pumped the water out. On a quick wash it stops at a minute to go again after pumping the water out. On just a spin cycle of 9 minutes it stops at 3 minutes presumably just as it is about to go into full spin mode. All this to me suggests it thinks there is water still in the machine when there isn’t. It just won’t spin at all.
Am starting to think about replacing the PCB which is a bit drastic but is maybe all that is left to do.

Have you checked the waste connector under sink? That may well be blocked..
I won’t be able to reply for a few hours, so hopefully.,you may have a answer from another engineer on here…if not, I’ll get back to you later today…

I’ve watched the water outside going into the drain,it comes out at a good fast rate and the machine empties quickly.

Hi mike..
Take a look at the rear of the Motor, in the centre is pushed a “tachometer coil”
Easily identifiable by the two wires leading from it..”probably yellow”Thus is basically a coil of copper wire, underneath this unit is a small permanent magnet which is attached to the motor shaft, and turns accordingly.
This then creates a voltage in the Tacho coil, which the “brains” of the machine uses to vary the spin speed…If you can use a multimeter, you can check for continuity in the coil itself.
If you can remove the coil then you will have access to the small magnet underneath.. This hopefully should be intact, and in place!
If all these check out, put it all back together and see how it goes..
Otherwise I think you may have a faulty motor,PCB or both!
Anyone else have any ideas ?.

Hi.
I know this probably wont help you now but I found this page so thought I should post my findings for others. I have just had the same problem with my candy grand evo and all suggestions failed to fix the problem. I dont guarantee this will be a fix for everyone but it worked for me.
Remove the main circuit board which is in a plastic housing at the bottom rear of the machine below the power cable. To do this, remove the 1 screw holding it in place, unplug the 7 ports, mark them so you know how to put it back and mark the orientation of the board in the housing. Unclip the pcb. Now you will see 4 12vDC relays on the board(small white boxes), 3 in a cluster at one end and one on its own at the other. The one on its own is the offending article. My one was stuck, I tried to find this component for sale but had no luck so I decided to ping it a few times with my finger hoping to free it up and it worked. I hope this prevents someone from pulling their hair out as I have been doing for the past 6 days! -
