Dishwasher circulating pump keeps stopping intermittently randomly throughout cycle and goes to default/fail cycle.
    – Have checked usual for loose connections. Tested circ pump capacitor and checked out ok – replaced it all the same and it seemd to help and make the cycle run once – Back to normal next cycle and now only works on economy but stops only once during cycle.
    – Bridged the supply suppressor as noted leaking slightly but still no change.
    – New heater thermostat fitted due to contacts in very poor condition.
    – PCB visually checked and no apparent loose connections or signs of overheating, dry connections or defective capacitors.

Sounds like PCB to me but any help would be appreciated and after 15 attempts I am eady to bin it. Do not want to pay call out fee which is 1/2 cost of a new one.

I suspect you’re right with the pcb. I’m 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain there’s a technical bulletin about this, but I’m damned if I can find it.

Anyway, the motor is switched by a relay on the pcb. They can and do go intermittent. The correct repair would be to replace the pcb – if you are handy with a soldering iron, there’s no reason you shouldn’t get a relay from Radio Spares or the like and try it. Cheap option.

Might just be worth checking how hot the motor gets when it cuts out as there is a TOC embedded in the motor windings. If it overheats, it shuts down.

Power off if you intend to investigate this yourself.

Sounds a liittle strange but you can normally get the machine going again straight away if you open and slam the door (not shutting it gently) which put me off the scent of motor overload and made me think loose wire but no signs of overheating or loose contacts anywhere.
Can’t make out the relay or do you know how to test?

Thanks for your help / Colonel Hardy
