Candy Dishwasher CD622 – water softner and regeneration

I came across a rather unusual (unusual to me!) fault, I repaired this dishwasher two months back which was a circulation motor seized, then I was called back yesterday (my client assumed my workmanship was to blame) for water leaks under “warranty” repair which turns out that my workmanship was not to blame nor the component in question – thankfully! However, the fault was leaking water during washing cycle, on inspection, I spotted the water leak from the connection points between water softener and regeneration matrix, initially I thought the o ring seals were to blame but doubted very much as there were a lot of water coming out under pressure. I am left wondering if it is viable to replace the o ring seals, or complete replacement of water softener and regeneration matrix otherwise I maybe inclined to condemn the dishwasher. My client says the machine is 9 years old. I understand his concern of not wanting to spend a great deal of cash. Some advice would be good?

Water softener could be blocked. Comes with new seals and not too expensive IIRC 🙂

I’ve had this a few times. Dry the area and then go mad with silicone sealant, I mean really mad, and leave for 24 hours.

I know this is over 5 years too late for you guys, but I’ve just had the same problem with my CD622. I thought I’d try changing the ‘o’ rings first, but with postage they ranged from £4.50 – £10+ for each one online! Daylight robbery I thought, even at £4.50.

So off I sped to a local bearings company with faulty(?) ‘o’ rings in tow, told them of my plight and they went searching. To my delight they found the same sized ones, and here’s the brilliant part. When I asked the price, he said, ‘Nothing, mate, they only cost pence. I hope they sort your problem’

…and they have! With a smear of silicon grease on each during fitting they are behaving splendidly. Not a drop of water anywhere and I’m now in credit with brownie points from ‘er indoors. 😀
