Our Candy DWI160 has suddenly started to leak. After reading the Basic Fault Finding guide I’m pretty sure it’s overfilling as it takes a while from starting to fill and wash before the leak starts. We’ve never put salt in it and I wondered if the pressure switch could be clogged? Indeed, where is the pressure switch and can it be replaced if it’s had it?

    Ta very much,

That’s an old “proper” Candy machine. Drag it out, tip it back to a good angle and look underneath. There is a black sump moulding, with a cover on the bottom retained by three screws. Undo them, pull the cover and clean the contents out – it will be full of muck of goo.

    Power off, first………

That was great advice, many thanks. It didn’t work first time but I then noticed two clear tubes leading off the sump, one to the inlet valve and one to the pressure switch I guess. I blew through them both and found the one to the pressure switch was blocked. After clearing that it went through a rinse cycle without leaking.

Now we just need to dirty lots of plates and we’ll try it properly.

    Thanks again..
