    Hi,

We moved into our new flat a month ago where a free-standing Candy CCM 28/12 fridge freezer (R134a) had been left by the previous owners. The flat had been unoccupied for 6months so the unit had been off for that long.

We turned it on, loaded both compartments and filled the ice tray and the unit seemed to work fine for a couple of weeks. But now the freezer compartment has really frosted up, and the fridge compartment is staying at around 15 degrees 🙁 whatever position we put the thermostat at. The fridge seals look clean and sound. The fridge is continually ‘humming’.

We want to see if we can repair this one rather than get a new one since it is housed in a tight fitting cabinet (width 55cm, depth 59 cm) which is too small for many fridge freezers on the market now.

    Regards
    Dave.

    Dave,
It does sound rather like a system fault – not a DIY job.

    Options are –
Check the Directories for a UKW repairer in your area.
Check into “Repairs@” on the site.
Pop up your postcode in here and someone may well pick up on it.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.
