Candy fridge/freezer CIC3202LE – 34384016 fridge not cooling

We have a Candy fridge/freezer, model CIC3202LE or 34384016. The freezer is freezing fine but the fridge is hardly cooling even at the 5 setting. Previously, even though it wasn’t cooling ver well, ice would form at the top of the fridge at the back but it isn’t doing that now.

Is this someting that can be resolved easily?

I’d like to add that I periodically hear a click followed by a hum which lasts for a while.

The freezer has frozen up quite heavily, would defrosting the entire machine (unplugged) be worth a try?

We’ve had the same problem with our Electrolux. It’s a frost free one but apparently the internal sensors have gone. It would freeze up so the air couldn’t circulate round the fridge. Freezer works fine but the fridge is room temperature. Defrosting the whole thing then switching it back on works ok for a couple of weeks but then it goes again. Have been told it’s terminal as sensors are built in but may be worth defrosting yours.
