ParticipantThe fridge in my 2 year old ‘frost free’ appliance has started to freeze its contents.
Crystal ice forms on the inside rear of the fridge which has been de-frosted manually but refreezes once it is restarted.
The freezer operates normally, however the compressor appears to be running continually.
The fan is operating but the thermostat control appears to have no effect and the lights on the control panel do not illuminate.
The fridge interior light (new bulb fitted) does not illuminate either.
Can anyone provide a diagnosis please ?
Thank you.December 3, 2006 at 12:54 am #196878clivejameson

Did the old lamp rattle and look black when you took it out?

Usually the electronic control module. Will fail in run all the time mode so you keep your freezer contents. Unplug power if you are going to have a lokk yourself.

Yep, the module’s gone west 😕
You could try Shop@ for a price of the module, straightforward to replace and would sort it.

PCB module replaced and appears to have solved problem however the appliance has been on for 3 days and the compressor has run continually during that time. Is this normal ? Could there be another related fault ?
