Candy G0482 won’t spin

My Candy G0482 washing machine has stopped turning. It will fill with water at the start of a cycle but just stops at the point where the drum should start turning. I can still get the water out on the drain cycle but that is all, spin cycle does nothing.

Could it be something as simple as the belt or pulley? Would this be something I could self-repair?

Hi,

First port of call is to check the motor brushes aren’t worn right down as that’s the most likely culprit and where to start.

The cheapest option, if I’m correct, is this set of brushes…
