Candy gas hob Mod PL2230/3X was tripping the consumer unit when knob pushed to turn on and ignite gas. Left it for a few days, tried again his evening and it now works. Grateful for any ideas what I need to check or replace to be safe.

The associated oven works and doesn’t cause problems, but I notice the LCD timer indicator no longer works, though I can’t say when it stopped working.

Liquid spillage in region of the burners has since dried?

Hi Martin, Spillage or too wet cleaning was my first thought, but I was assured nothing like that happened. Nevertheless, I guess that’s the most likely cause. What concerned me, however, was why the mains circuit breaker tripped.

    Hi

Most probably it’s been either installed with a 13amp plug and fuse or wired directly to the 30amp cooker circuit.

It should be fitted with a 3amp fuse

    Hi Bryan,

I’m a visitor so I don’t know how it’s connected. I’ll have to go back and check.

    Thanks.
