Attended this machine, couldn’t find the cause of water light flashing. There’s no mention of float switch other than pressure switch on the parts list.

Unless I’m mistaken usually pressure switch is found in washing machine and tumble dryer.

Is the fault completely unrelated as it starts for few secs then flashes water empty light?

The pressure switch sits on top of the water receiver between the motor and the condenser. Its sole purpose is to switch on the “tank full” lamp and shut down the machine. The timer will run but nothing else will work. There is no float fitted. To get to the pressure switch and its chamber, it’s a drum out strip down…. OR try this:-

Remove the plastic water tank, lean the machine back against a wall and take off the valve at the back of the tank compartment (under the machine; 2 screws). Water will come out so be prepared. With a zip tie, rod out the chamber and squirt some water into the open end of the chamber to flush out the debris. Clean the valve (usually blocked with fluff) and the opposite mating valve on the back of the plastic tank. Reassemble and all should be OK.

    HTH,

    Steve.

Thanks Steve, found the pressure switch via complete drum strip down. Didn’t mind doing that.

Cleaned it out and tested the switch using multimeter and blow throw the small pipe to get the clicking noise. Then refitted it, no improvement.

I ordered new pressure switch and it’s special order and back order with Qualtex and Connect. Looks like it will be after Christmas for it to arrive! The customer with two teenage boys was not happy. What can I do?
