ParticipantHi
My washing machine has not been playing nicely in the past 2 months (simply not continuing programme at random) or so only to throw e03 error today. Ive read that e03 is usually due to machine not being able to drain the water out. Ive checked the drain hose and made sure its sound, took out all clothes that were in the machine (noticed they are almost completely dry?), filled the machine with water and confirmed if the drain hose drains the water. Ive not checked the filter yet as only the white cap comes out and black bit of it stays in it place (will have to remove water pump tomorrow and remove this way to further investigate but doubt its blocked as per test ive just described). Anyways whats strange is that the machine at the beginning of any program only takes water for few seconds and never attempts to take any more water but continues with the program and probably when times come to drain it cannot do so as there is no water so i think e03 is a bit misleading here as main problem seem to be the washing machine wont take as much water as it should without actually realizing it. Could anyone help me investigate the problem please?

ModeratorWell if the filter cant be removed you can’t be sure that the pump isn’t blocked so yes check this 1st once you have it out shine a torch where you have taken the filter out and make sure nothing is jamming the pump

ParticipantHi,
Thanks for reply. I think I could be sure that filter is not blocked because of the test by manually filling the washing machine with just water and setting the program to rinse only and water came out of drain pipe just fine. Anyways Ive just finished cleaning the filter (removed the housing with the pump) and there is no change in behaviour. When washing machine starts the program only takes the water from right compartment(?) for 3-5 seconds and never takes any more water, detergent stays untouched in left chamber. But washing program continues as normally as usual up until draining (before rinse I assume?) and then it develops E03 code.
So I know for a fact the draining is not a problem. The problem is the washing machine does not take up enough water. Any suggestions?May 16, 2020 at 11:27 am #468740kaibart

ParticipantVery good diagnosis I must admit. Ive not replaced the heating element but before purchasing the new one I just wanted to see if the old one comes easily. When it did I gave it a very good clean and put back in. The washing machine now works again.
Thank you very much!

ParticipantI spoke to soon. After 2 successful washes yesterday today the machine developed the exactly the same symptoms. Not sure now if its still a problem with heating element though as there were some successful washes in between? kaibart how certain are you if its heating element? What tests can I run to determine whats at fault?

Moderatorits a common fault
when the heating elelemt has a slight earth fault it upsets the computer and throws up an E3 Fault Kai is correctwhen you said you had it out and put it back i knew it would not last
although non of us can be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} it will be the fault without inspection we are in the 90,s
check with the shop to be certain but its highly likley this will work
