Hi all, I’m new here so I hope I can get some help.
I have a candy grand evo which developed fault e3. poss blocked drain, removed the drain pipe and found it full of soap slime, undid pipe both ends and pulled through a piece of cloth on a wire, checked pump turned ok, filter clear, pipe from drum clear.
Now it may do a complete wash cycle or it may stop with 4 minutes to go with error code e03 or e16. and the door stays locked. I know the heater is ok as it heats up the water, If I switch it off for a minute then select drain cycle it may drain out properly.
So I reckon the pump is working ok, could it be the water level sensor having a “wobbly” now and again.??

Hoover / candy group machines when throwing up BOTH E03 & E16 are 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time reporting an earth leak on the heater.

The heater needs to be meggered for even the slightest trace of an earth leak. If that meters ok, you have a defective Coreboard

    Re: Candy Grand Evo faults

Ran another test run, this is the result.
Put on 30 min wash, running ok up to 8 min; left, then stopped. E03 error
Switched it off and drained 700ml out, door still locked. switched on to spin, error E16 up, door still locked. Pulled out plug for 2 minutes, door unlocked.
plug in, switch on , put on spin 7. starts ok, turning slowly, pump working, down to 6, spin starts slowly, pump working,5 same 4 same, then jumps down to 1, stops. no 1600 spin, end. drained out further 250ml, that’s it.
As this did not need heater at all I am confused.?

    Re: Candy Grand Evo faults

It’s an earth fault on heater that causes problem as already said. Doesn’t matter if you select a problem that’s not using it. Heater needs meggering to be sure

Hello , I have a similar problem. I stripped the pump down, cleaned it out, blew down the waste pipe, there was no blockage.

How do you meter an earth leak on the heater please before I order a new one? I am capable and know ho to use a mulitimeter.

    Thanks
    Tony

    Re: Candy Grand Evo faults

You measure the resistance between each terminal and earth. A 9v multimeter is not capable of registering a fault. You need a 500v Insulation meter. An essential tool we use in the trade in detecting earth leakage faults and checking the electrical safety of any electrical appliance we repair.

    Re: Candy Grand Evo faults

thanks martin, looks like i need to buy a heater first , then a pump.
I put the machine on a cold short wash yesterday. it got down to 3 minutes before the end and conked out with e03. i may have 2 problems at the same time here.
