    Hi,

This is my first post so please bear with me! Am new to all this 🙂

I have a Candy Grand G0682 washing machine (approx 2 – 3 years old). The clothes started to come out smelling this weekend so yesterday I tried to do a hot/maintenance wash at 90 degrees. Initially it started but then it switched itself off (not sure how long later) with water in the drum, tried to do a drain but although it sounded like the motor was running, nothing was drainng. I had to go out so I left machine off for a few hours with the water in the drum by the time I got back the water had dispersed so I tried to do a 40 degree wash again which took 1.5 hours (normally 30 mins) to do the wash cycle (nothing in machine).

I then tried again to do a 90 degrees wash with nothing in machine which seemed to work. Today I tried to do a 40 degree wash (with clothes) but it will not wash on a fast wash at 40, it takes 1 1/2 hours to do a 40 degree wash (whereas before it would be 30 mins).

Any ideas what might be wrong?
If you need anymore information, please let me know.
Many thanks in advance for any help 🙂

Hi, Before doing anything else: Check the Filter for blockages, check that the pump is not blocked & the impellor is turning freely and that the drain hose is not blocked.

PLEASE REMEMBER: POWER OFF & PLUG OUT FIRST.

    Hi,
Thank you for the reply 🙂 I should have said I checked filter and drain hose both were clear of blockages, not checked pump and not sure what impellor is (will google that).

I put the machine on to rinse something today (normally takes 15 mins) 45 mins later and its still rinsing 🙁

Hi: The impellor is the part of the pump that pushes the water out, if the pump is blocked or the impellor is’nt turning properly your machine won’t pump out properly if at all & can cause all sorts of problems. if you follow the outlet hose back into the machine you’ll come to the pump.

    Hi,
Thanks for the info I will have a look but I think it may be more wrong with it then I first thought, esp now it’s not doing its normal cycle times (everything is taking 1.5 – 2 hours) even just draining/rinsing 🙁
