E01 fault on one of these machines.
The error seems to suggest faulty door lock, wiring or drum braking device.
What is and how do you check the “drum braking device”?
    TIA.

The E01 fault is related to the door lock so check wiring and door lock or it says check triac on pcb

Hi this post was just a general enquiry regarding the drum braking device.
Where is it and how does it work?

well since they are unlikely to put brakes on a tub the most likely explanation is they will use the motor to slow the drum down. so the system will include the motor and its control card

just had a quick look at this machine.
As soon as the control knob is turned from the off position L3 is momentarily displayed( which apparently is normal ).
The display then shows E01,the door is locked and you can’t select any programme.
The only way to release to door lock is to switch it off at the mains plug because if the control knob is just turned to off the door remains locked.
Sounds like it’s getting a supply to the door lock even when knob is in the off position.
    Any ideas?

Most likely a leaky/shorted triac on the PCB.

This board uses SMD triacs so it’s a hot air station job to change them. The upside is that the programmed PCB is cheap and in stock at Connect.

    Murv…
