Hi, for some time now our machine hasn’t been cleaning very well. We have 2 boys who play football weekly and often the muddy kit comes out still muddy! Additional rinsing sometimes helps eventually but it is a pain, not to mention the extra cost in getting a load clean. Have taken the back off to see whether there might be a problem with blocked waste outlet or something? Have noticed that the rubber sump when squeezed feels like it has a handful of stones in it!? Is this correct? Can’t take it off however, because it seems to be held on with a factory clip rather than conventional clip. Any ideas?

There should be nothing in any hose. The spring rings can be manipulated off with pliers, but be careful, they are surprisingly powerful.

After clearing all foreign objects, clean out the soap drawer and box and the door seal, then do a service wash. Set the machine to the 90c programme and add a quality bio powder. You shouold do this monthly to keep the machine functioning correctly.

    Power off before going underneath.

Unless it has an ecoball in it. 😉

Other things, poor detergents used, overloading and possible poor/weak motor action.
