    As above, we came home tonight and switched on lower fan assisted oven. Soon after, the RCD blew and the oven, fan, oven light and red neon stopped working – all other parts of oven ok.

    Left this for 30 mins and now all working ok. I am thinking of changing the element – what do you think? Seems strange that the element stopped all other parts of the oven working so I am thinking it could be something else.

    All ideas gratefully received.

    Think I have answered my own question – took element out and it has a bulge in it – suspect it has had it.
