ParticipantHi Folks
Went to this the other day and customer complaining one side of oven hotter than the other.
Checked and nothing obvious.
Went 12 months ago to same complant and nothing obvious then – I just removed a packing washer to allow door catch to pull door in tighter as thought it might be a door seal problem although the door seal looked ok. Did ask if that had made a difference 12 months ago and she said “not really” :rolls:
Anyone else come across simalar problem by any chance?
Fan motor working ok – can’t see any ovious obstructions to air flow and heating up ok – door seal ok although a little bit hard at top of seal but nothing that would cause air flow problems. (Did think of changing it but feel I’m grasping at straws)
Never had problem like this on fan ovens – used to get it on old type with side elements when one element had gone.
Any help/suggestions welcome
Thanks
Mick

Bit of a vague statement from your customer there Mick TBH. Which side and what type of cooking gave reason for this observation? Batch baking cakes or roasting potatoes? Shelf positions of worst examples and how many shelves used? All of which may help in analysing the problem here.

Hi Martin – thanks for the reply
Didn;t want to bog the post down with to much info but here goes:
Right hand side seems to be hoter than left – most noticable when cooking pizza, cakes, large yorkshire pud or roast joint – she has to keep turning what ever she is cooking as one side browns noticably more than other side.
Fan has clockwise rotation – didn’t count the shelves but think there are two fitted but didnt ask how many were in use when cooking – didnt think about shelf position either as a problem but can see the posibility but shouldn’t be. She thinks the cooker is about 5 years old – had no problem when new – only the last 2 years.
Not sure if that helps?
Thanks
Mick
