Hi all. I have a Cannon chester free standing oven (model 10548G). The problem is the pilot is coming on fine but the main burner will not ignite – does anyone know what this would cost to mend?
Also is this a standard fault and something I can claim back?
Please help – urgent assistance required – the wife is getting at me already!!

I’m not a gas safe registered engineer but I was intrigued by this comment.
How old is the appliance, even if it was a standard fault why should you expect to ‘claim something back’ and from whom would you intend to claim this. 😕
Hopefully one of the gas engineers will be along to answer your other question.
From my reckoning the Chester was discontinued late 2007 but it`s possible that someone could have had one in stock, so it could be under warranty or it could be covered by an extended warranty. If the latter is the case then you would need to contact the insurers in the first instance.
I think i commented on here lastnight.. got removed? please forgive me if i said something liable.. but please also PM me so i know, and won’t make the same mistake again. 😉
