I have recently bought a second hand Cannon Chester model gas cooker.
It has developed an issue when using the oven. It automatically sparks to light the oven. The oven runs normally for 5 minutes. Then the ignition starts to spark continuously for 10 to 15 mins and then stops.
Can anyone tell me what the likely cause is. The person i bought it from tells me that he has fitted a new flint and that it needs time to wear in, but it has been doing this for over a month now.

you should get a gas safe engineer to sort it for you. most will be about £80+ for a call out, due to the certification. but as its a cannon u might be better off getting the cannon/hotpoint/indesit engineer to go out for a fixed fee of about £99, as they will have specific experience of that model. if you can, see if you can also blag the free parts warranty if u can get the recipt off the previous owner and pretending your them 😛
