    Cannon c60dpxf

Main fan oven if set to 180c heats but beeps as if at temperature but it’s only at 150c

If set to 210c it beeps at 180c

In both cases if left for a further 15 minutes it will get up to the set temp and stay there ok if empty. Although when food is put in the temp dipped 25c and seemed to struggle.

Further to this if set at a temp and it beeps and temp indicator goes out, if the temperature nob is turned to a higher temp the indicator doesn’t come back on to note oven not at temperature.

On the top oven this function works fine

Spoke to an engineer he suggests the main board and told me he couldn’t test it and won’t risk it so phone hot point helpline, they want £240 for an extended warranty.

Any ideas ? Or should I pay the £240

    Thanks

The most logical explanation to my way of thinking is that the thermostat is at fault.

Main board? Scare tactics by the sound. :rolls:

His thinking was that the oven will get to the set temperature and hold it the stat is ok. The main oven has a digital temp read out, he said it runs the whole thing and it is interpreting the temperature wrong in its initial heat cycle.

As Martin says the logical part to replace first would the ntc/thermister that senses the temperature and gives the feedback to the main board.

After that then i would be thinking the potentiometer/selecter switch.

Also make sure the door is closing and sealing properly and that the oven fan is turning ok.

If you pay the £240 to Hotpoint they would more than likely replace the main pcb, selector and ntc together.
