Cannon Solarglo main oven won’t turn off

I have a friend with a Cannon Solarglo model no. 20175E.
As soon as the power is turned on and the clock set (oven won’t heat unless clock set) the main oven light comes on and starts to heat (no fan).
This happens even though the oven temp is set to zero.
As soon as you turn the oven temp from zero the fan will come on as expected.
Oven also does not regulate to set temperature but gets hotter and hotter. Occaisonally it will regulate.
Is this a straight forward thermostat issue , – could understand lack of regulation but what about it coming on when set to zero ?
Any thoughts anyone?

It would point to a main oven stat failure. Part number is C00229478.

It does not appear to be stocked in the Shop@ here. 😥

PS. Moved you to the Cooker forum, don’t think you would get much washing done with this appliance. 😉
