Hi i moved house the other day and when i switched my cooker on i heard a noise from the front left hob and now the hobs and ovens dont switch on? but the clock still works.

ive taken the top off and checked the glass tubes on the hobs and all looks well, there is a slight crack in the ceramic in the left front hob dont no if that would matter, all the wiring looks ok no burnt ones.

i’m stuck can anyone please help?

    kind regards Errol

You don’t say if you fitted this cooker into your new house, or it was left behind by the previous owner. If it has been brought in and connected up I would be looking at the integrity of the connections in the terminal block where the mains cable goes in.
The hob crack does matter; it will soon creep and the whole hob will shatter. Not good……… 8O. Ceramic hobs are very expensive to replace but most house insurance policies cover broken or shattered ceramic hobs, give them a quick call to clarify this first.

Power off before any inspection. :plug:
