Cannot get parts for a 6 month old washing machine!!

hi,

i have a samsung j1453 washing machine – had it for 6 months, and recenlty theres a tear in the the door gasket – so i need to replace it –

Tried samsung, cpc, sll of the other retailers on the net – and nowhere has one – they all are having to make enquiries – and that was a week ago – no one has bothered to get back to us yet…as you can imagine the amount of washing is piling up

so 2xs questions
1 – any idea on where to get one
2- if i cannot get one – do i have any comeback on the where i bought it
3- are they easy to fit – as if im going to spend £30 on a gasket and then 100 to fit the thing – im better off buing a new machine that i know i can get spares for

The seal you need is part no. DC6400563A @ £50ish try spares@ on this site or we can supply. Dead easy to fit just remember to unplug the mains!

Hello,

If the machine is only 6 months old as you say call Samsung help line and have it repaired under warranty. If the person sent does not have it on the van, it only takes a day or two to come.

Would suspect that depends on how the ‘tear’ got there Bill. 😉

Yep sure would Jim. Most manufacturers now will NOT cover ripped/damaged door seal/gaskets/boots whatever you call them as they class that as user damage not wear and tear.

heheh! an update

The wifey forced me to go out and buy a new washer today – otherwise would be going to work in underpants on monday – not a pretty sight!

Went and got a hotpoint Wt960 for £299 from Empire Direct in Bolton – and boy! its quiet!!! – so we are happy…im working on the idea that £50 for gasket £50 for fitting……so i spent another £200 and got a quieter machine….theres logic in there somewhere…..

So then i have a samsung washer 7kg sitting around that just needs a door gasket in the NW —– any offers?

if you cannot live without a washer for a few days then i would go and buy another machine and keep it spare in the garage ready for when your indesit breaks down

They don’t but they do. Hotpoint is owned by the Indesit Company, who also own and make Aristone and, IIRC, some of the new electronic controls in the current Hotpoints are 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} pure Ariston.
