Moderatordid a 30 mile round trip yesterday to a smeg range only to find 3 pans boiling up on the hob and 2 jacket potatoes roasting in the oven (convection setting as fan oven had blown) customer accused me of calling her “stupid” when I suggested it was common sense not to use oven when they knew we were calling (had quoted a 3 hour window). one disgruntled customer and a big looser for me.
first call this morning on the phone, a range cooker no heat, call booked and, having learned from yesterdays wasted trip, I suggested that we need a “cold cooker” when we arrive. Response? “What do you think we are, stupid”
result now 2 disgruntled customers who are probably going to report to Smeg that I have called them stupid! cannot win! I give up! :bang:May 10, 2013 at 8:31 am #394726kwatt

Smeg punters, gotta love ’em.
TBH Mark I think it’s just a sign of the times, people are so much more aggressive now than ever they used to be.

this made me chuckle, my 1st call this morning was to change a hotplate on a faulty hob, the customer knew i was due at 8.00am yet was still cooking on the other 3 working rings…..

I had a call to a range cooker that was impossible to get out as it had been positioned and then a marble floor laid in front of it and the marble worktops had been cut to slightly overlap the edges of the cooker. I left after telling the woman that I could not gain access to it. 1 Hour later my phone rang and it was her Indian doctor husband swearing and generally abusing me for walking out without fixing the cooker, he said couldn’t I have got 2 chisels and forced it out. Yeah and then have to pay for your million pound floor?

Had similar when working for Comet in Liverpool. Went to a Delonghi Dual Fuel Range with a blown element (screwed through the back). The steel legs had been buried in 2 inches of concrete and the customer kicked off big time when I wouldn’t ( couldn’t ) remove the appliance. Always wondered what happened to it 😆

Sometimes has it with a washer drier, returned to do bearings and find its been drying for the last 2 hours.
And they just look at you like your mad when you say I can’t touch it.
Also it annoys me with FF. Its not working correctly so they unplug it 3 days earlier , turn up and have to try and see if it running at all or of if its a frost free all the ice that was likely causing the problems has melted.
Really gets your back up sometimes.

Well Yeah: It allways has to be the engineers fault & no matter what abuse you get from them, it’s allways the engineer who was Abusive, Nasty or Racist 😈
