ParticipantI have a Beko CDA752FW fridge freezer. The fridge compartment is at room temp and the freezer slowly cycles between -9 and +8C. Have obtained a new control board but cannot find where they have hidden the existing one! I was expecting a compartment near the top of the back, but not there. Help!!

And it’s far more likely to be a sensor issue.

i’m beginning to wonder. Local engineer said its most likely the board, but didn’t run any tests. but told me a board would be £100 and with no guarantee that was the problem it prob wasn’t worth fixing. I think he was more concerned at being ‘stuck’ with a spare part. On line Beko parts stockist supplied board for under £30 as for my model number. But stat in fridge looks to be more electro-mechanical than electronic so you could be right. Appliance serial no says it was made in 2008, which is later than the 00-06 models that were recalled.

So by that i guess you mean the thermostat sensorJuly 19, 2017 at 8:52 pm #449046electrofix

the electronic boards use electronic sensors and these fail
if you look behind the knob that set the temperature and you find something like picture below then it has no board
ps this is not the correct stat for your model just for illustration

Thanks guys. Yes, Dave. Thats the type of stat. Stops me looking for something that isn’t there!! Tomorrow’s job. Return pcb and order old type stat. I’ll let you know how I get on,
Thanks again

A standard stat controlled unit won’t give the symptoms you describe due to a faulty thermostat.
Sounds like it’s short cycling.

Its all academic now. Don’t know how or why, but in the middle of the night there was an almighty crash. The fridge compartment door had flown open and the shelves and contents were on the floor. What a mess, broken bottles and jars everywhere. Couldn’t believe it!!!! After discounting the cat and a poltergeist I realised that the back wall of the plastic lining had blown inwards. Its like the fridge had tried to turn itself inside out. Quite frightening. But what on earth could have caused this and why? Never seen anything like it. Maybe I should report this to the manufacturer?

Yes, I’d report that.
The refrigerant gas leaking into the insulation is about all I can think of but worth looking at for sure.
Some images would be good.
