    Doh 😯 👿
On a Smeg range unit yesterday couldn’t move it forward. There’s a washer next to it and they aren’t attached.
Can pull it up no prob but not towards me.
So I decided to uncouple the washer for a better look….
    :eeek: :eeek:
The worktop is screwed into the gas hob as there’s no support on that side.

    WHOOOAA MR DIY STOP THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    You couldn’t make it up.

Went to a tumble drier once that was at the end of a row of units. The end wooden panel was siliconed on to the side of the machine, held down from above by the worktop and blocked from below by thick floor tiles.
Customer wondered why I wasn’t even going to touch it with someone elses barge-pole.
All it was needing was the reset button pressed as well…

…..I went to a DISHWASHER (about 3 years back or more now) that was next to an AGA range cooker. Now the AGA man had only recently converted the cooker to run on OIL, and instead of removing the dishwasher and feeding the oil pipe behind the machine (and make a proper job of it). He simply plumbed the pipework around the front of the dishwasher, so I could not get it out at all 👿

You think thats bad, I had a Hotpoint top loader that was in a corner, flush at the side with a large old stone sink. They had a very large central heating boiler installed 6 inches in front of the washer 👿

Hoover keymatic, in the corner of the bathroom, bath one side and the tiolet on the adjacent wall, preventing removal. When I explained it needed to come out and sayin I assumed the loo was plumbed in afterwards, she said, “Oh! it took 4 men with ropes to get it in there. I wondered how you would get it out”?

Hoover didn’t have a part number for a crystal ball.

smeg washer dryer in a brand new £1 million apartment in docklands, slate everywhere, an awesome sight. The W/D was the first appliance, ie next to the wall, couldn’t pull it out more than 3 inches cos there was a window sill in the way. After the kitchen fitters had left, Mr Jobsworth chippy had gone in and fitted the sills. They had to have the sill removed before I could fix the machine.

I been to loads, and I mean LOADS of new kitchens, were the customer has got a free washer that comes with the kitchen. This is usually the cheapest, intergrated, piece of p**h available (diplomat/servis), and then the fitters tile inch thick tiles up to the front of the washer, which is sunk behind the tiles and fits flush with the work-top, so you can’t pull it over the tiles.

So, the washer breaks at 13 months old (coz the module/belt has broken), I come along and say call ‘Oh dear.’ But it’s fun smashing out customer’s newish tiles with a chistle, because they usually don’t what to do it.
