So, I have a Beko heat pump dryer and the compressor is failing to kick in. It’s fitted with a 25uF capacitor which has failed however it has a metal casing. I have a capacitor which will fit in terms of rating and it does indeed fix the issue and starts up the compressor however, has a plastic case. Will it be suitable to fit this?

IMO, it makes no odds unless there’s a specific reason for one or the other.

Hi, thanks for the quick response. What sort of reasoning could there be for one or the other?

I’ve never actually ever seen a good reason why you’d use one over the other.

Just avoid the cheap capacitors especially the Chinese made ones Other Chinese made parts can be ok but their capacitors have a duff rating in my experience. The Ducati brand are just fine so I`d fit that brand..
