I’ve not seen this first hand as the oven is my mother-in-laws…..

She describes the problem as th oven heating up randomly. The oven will get to temperature and then the temperature will drop and then heat up again, then drop again etc etc

I know this is a normal cycle but the temp seems to drop significantly for a sustained period before the oven heats up again. Cooking a pie which should take 30 minutes takes a couple hours.

Could this just be a faulty thermostat? I know there is also a 160 degree cut off thermostat.

Anyone have any thoughts on what I should start replacing?

    Thanks.

I probably did, but should I start with the £10 160 degree thermostat or the £33 main thermostat.

Maybe both to be sure to cure the problem?
