Caple CR 1003 SS no heat

Hello all,

I’m hoping someone can gelp me. The main oven is not heating up, the grill element comes on but the rear does not. So I order a new element and fit it but it still does not come on, any ideas what the problem could be?

The thermostat is working as is the light and fan.

Not familiar with these ovens and have no access to tech info for them.

However, many ovens have a safety thermostat fitted somewhere round the back of the oven casing – these are often single shot devices, so if tripped, it would have to be replaced. It also begs the question, why did it fail? Oven thermostat is usually a good bet.

Secondly, if it’s a combined grill and fan oven, there has to be a selector switch to switch between the two. This is also worth investigating.
