I have a problem with my Caple DI414 Dishwasher. The problem is that it starts the cycle. I hear it fill up and then it just stops. It then beeps 8 times and the light flashes 8 times.

Im not sure what this is and am unable to find the fault codes for it. Can anybody help?

It’s a Whirlpool in a skirt….. 8 flashes indicates a problem with the water level control system. Pull out the filters and look at the 9 o’clock position in the sump. You should see a black grid. This fills up with grease and other detritus over time. Scrubbing this out with hot water and a toothbrush may clear the problem, however, it sometimes needs to be removed for a more thorough cleaning. It’s a twist fit from underneath, so power off if you have to go this route.

    Hello,
I have a very, very similar problem although it is slightly different.

I also have a Caple DI414 Dishwasher which irreleveant of which Cycle I choose, it will sometimes complete the Cycle and sometimes fail partway through, and when it does fail it fails at entirely random points, i.e. 5 mins in, or halfway through, or right near the end!

When it does fail, the ‘Start’ button (far right, diamond icon with a verticalline inside) flashes 8 times, pauses, and repeats, whilst the machine beeps continuously, and I mean CONTINOUSLY… this thing beeps and beeps and beeps constantly until you open the door, and then of course I have to reset it and start again.

I’m renting the apartment at the moment so I have no idea how old the machine is but I’d hazard a guess at about a year… I thought I’d try and fix it myself first if it’s something simple before I involve the landlord.

…oh and although the error code isn’t in the manual, I have tried the closest error code which suggested cleaning the filters, which I have done, thoroughly… to no avail.

Thanks for any and all assistance!!!
