I have had a integrated Caple fridge freezer R1736 for about 3 years, lately I have had a lot of ice in the top of the drawer of the freezer. I understand every day a heater comes on to defrost the coils, when this happens the water drips into the drawer and freezes. I do not fancy trying to get the freezer out of the unit. There is a panel at the back of the freezer inside, with 4 screws, would I find anything here to cure the problem?
Many thanks to anyone who answers!

the first thing to try is a total defrost. it may be frost free but its not totally true and they can ice up

switch off and leave doors open for about 48 hours and try again

    Re: Caple Fridge Freezer

all self defrost units have a drain hole that lets the water get out and normally goes down a tube to a tank on top of the compressor where it will evaporate

    check this tube is clear

In the freezer section, there is no drain hole, but there is a panel with four screws at the back of the freezer on the inside, is there liable to be a drain hole behind the panel?

at the back of the freezer you will have an evaporator. below this will be the drain hole

this unit is common to all self defrosting freezers and is at the back of the freezer behind the panel

if you panel is a large cover you will find this unit behind it

I think I will have to get someone in to have a look at it, I am a pensioner, and not able to pull the fridge freezer out of the unit.
