ParticipantHi all
I know this has been covered before but here goes 🙂
I am going to cancel my card reader terminal with elavon as i don’t use it enough to warrant paying £26 per month + other charges.
So the question is izettle or paypal reader ?
Does anyone have experience on these ? is it worth it ?
I still need to take card payments just not as many as I used toToni

I have the paypal reader, very easy to set up and use with your phone.
After the initial cost of the reader the only thing you pay is 3{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of each transaction, which I add to the bill.
It’s pretty quick as well, you get immediate notification of the money going to your account etc.
All in all it’s perfect for me as I only get asked to take a card about a dozen or so times a year.
Just remember to keep the reader charged at all times, I just plug mine into a spare USB in the van and chuck it in the glove box.September 9, 2016 at 1:58 pm #440829johnnyj

I use payleven find it handy for the customers who after phoning you out don’t have any money. Most of them have a card of some type.

I also use the payleven reader, it only gets used about 6 times a year at the moment and I add a processing fee to the customers bill, there system will also allow you to take over the phone payments through their website (if you ask for it) which has also been useful occasionally when dealing with landlords.
They pay the money to me within a week, the only bugbear that I have is that I have to re-pair the reader to the phone each time (suspect that it is probably the phones fault – if you look closley you will see that izettle and paypal both use the same readers).Jem

We have multiple engineers all using IZettle and have never had a single problem. I’d definitely recommend them.

I’ve used Worldpay Zinc for over 2 years now. Never had a problem. It links quickly to my iPhone. I think the fee is 2{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} from memory, maybe 1.75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} without getting my paperwork out.

Izettle seems to work for me but I object to paying £10 for transaction fee for a £390 appliance purchase. At the end of the day it’s about choice for the customers and I generate a lot of business by offering the card payment facility. I encourage my customers to pay either in cash, cheque or bank transfer for appliance purchases as it is free for me to process against card payment but at the end of the day if the customer insists using the card then use it to keep them happy.

I use WorldPay Zinc, 2.75{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} across the board for payments. Money in account within a few days. I tried iZettle when they first came on the scene but money took ages to be deposited in account(maybe they are better now?)

IZettle has daily, weekly or monthly deposits. Daily means the money is in the bank within 3 days of taking the payment. Monthly and weekly are handy as well. 1 time they’ve been late by a single day and they emailed to tell us straight away there was a problem. I can’t fault them.

We have started to use STRIPE which is on line and can take payments on your phones.NO monthly fees NO rentals and it has the option so that the card holder pays the CC fee’s of about 1 – 1.5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} payment into your bank without any problems and you get notified by e mail when its transferred.
