ModeratorCan I just enquire about the inspired move to become a City & Guilds NVQ accredited training provider.
Did George do this enquiry off his own back ?, or was he tasked to do it.?
If he did it off his own back then I feel that at the very least he should get a mention in dispatches as it is a most excellent display of inituative on his part if he did.
If this move is recognised then it will serve to show all the staff, that george is following the ethos of the UKW doctrine and is being proactive in the “Be part of it !” message, we have been trying to instill in others.
just a thought

KeymasterYeah, I think it was off his own back and don’t worry, when this goes public I’ll be mentioning George and everyone else’s involvement in it as well.
Credit where credit is due.

The idea sprang from the conversation I had with George yesterday. I have tasked George with gathering info for our meeting (24th) at Bedford, where we can get updated. I have also tasked George to do a 10 minute presentation for Sibson on NVQ’s and why you(the trade) should get them.
If you want to read up, go to http://www.city-and-guilds.co.uk where you brief yourself. The idea being quite simple, its execution is not. However lets give George the space to come up with more info and see where we go from there.
We can of course use our own companies as guinea pigs to trial run whatever comes of this, proving it works before we “”””sell””””” it, nationwide.
Sibson will definately have to kick off at 0930 this time.

Will this mean that H.M Govt. will be our next big sponser or will any funding be hijacked by messers hayter and tudor again.

No Del,
Being an independent Training Provider allows UKW to work on its own initiative as regards NVQ’s with C&Guilds as our sponser, so to speak. We can employ our trainers to assess and verify as well as run the speed of training, becoming the tool that independents use to unravel the red tape that surrounds “getting an NVQ”. This of course will have a cost to the independent but we are trying to see what funding we might be able to get for them through the “Training Initiative”, if we succeed we secure our own funds if we are doing the training.
Lets be honest, who is going to go anywhere else if we get this deal right?

We all know that UKW will be the only viable training delivery service to the national trade because we also know that not one single employer in this land will pay for a lad to go on a prolonged residential training course as it would be financially crippling, For anyone who tried it.
Unless of course they were youngsters on a modern appreticeship deal who could attract some funding.
We have the tool to deliver distance learning for the academic side via the site, Plus our trainers in the field
Ours will be the only modular system backed up by asessors and verifiers brought right to their soddin doorstep. Or within a couple of hours from them.
This makes the whole concept affordable to them for the very first time.
But it also means that we have to find the pathway for all to of us to be accredited asessors/verifiers to deliver this nationally.
This will work for us on so many levels as it could form the long term plan to develope the whole trade and enable it to be viewed as both qualified recognised which as we know is long over due.
This I’m sure will not be lost on P&G who could attain fantastic kudos if they are seen to be visable in helping to skill every qualified service technition in the land.
I’ll let you do the sums as you are the king when it comes to quantifying the cost and value of things. One thing I know for sure is that you wont under sell it.
Funny how that call I made to you on the mobile when leaving Grantam
about needing to be assessors suddenly has a new found sense of
urgencey 😉Del
