    Hi,

I have a job on a Cata ES60SS solid hotplate hob where the thermal fuses for the F/L and B/L hotplates are open circuit. I got a parts diagram from Isdal and it shows 4 different thermal fuses but it looks as if the only difference is the length of the cable. They are listed as 17, 18, 19 and 20 inch thermal fuses.

Two questions here, do these fuses just go open circuit because they are faulty or is there a reason for them going and as the 19 inch one is out of stock does it matter if I fit two 20 inch ones?

    thanks

    John,

Have changed any amount of these which seem to go for no apparent reason. Fit the 20 inch ones as you,ll see they just zip tie them up with twist and bends on the initial installation I tend to zip the fuze bit just passed the securing clip.

    Thanks Ian,

I assumed that the only difference would be the length of the wire but was a bit confused when I saw the prices on the Cata website the 17 and 18 inch ones cost £1.86, the 19 inch one costs £7.86 and the 20 inch one costs £2.98…

Must be a special machine the cuts the wire for the 19 inch ones 😆

hi john, we’ve fitted a few of these and had to go back to a few that have failed again. we tend to fit a new ring if this happens and this seems to do the trick.
