I have a BEKO WTB941R2W washing machine that has failed to spin. I have found that the multi plug connected to the motor is completely burnt out, with a couple of wires being melted through.

I have cut the multi plug off, and I am going to connect the motor back up using standard spade connectors. I will let you know the results. However I am wondering what could cause such a failure, as I don’t want it to happen again.

its not common but does happen

has it been leaked on ? as that can do it

we get problems with hotpoints doing this as they use poor connectors but not had a Beko do it

its probably been a loose connector or it not been plugged all the way in or its been leaked on

    Thanks for the response Dave.

Plugged the motor back in but no spin. I’ve a suspicion that it may be the DC module that is fried.
Could a burnt out DC module also cause the multi-plug to burn out?

the only thing that causes motor plug burn is the plug or leaks

Just replaced the DC module with a new one and, hey presto, a working washer.

Strange, as there was little to no visible damage on the old DC module. No burnt out fuses, just a bit of blackness around one of the “capacitors”.

    can be stupid
bad solder joint or hairline crack on board
