having finally given in to the promises of the CBS crew at WTA meetings, I now find myself in all sorts of hassle with my BT phone account.
Anyone any experience of switching to them?

    Hi Mark,
How are you getting on with this? I switched my phone and broadband from one BT package to another through them a couple of years ago and it went smoothly. I pay quite a lot less than I did before. Every now and again though I get a letter from BT about something intended for somebody else, or for CBS and have to contact Steve to sort it out.

opps, sorry, very late reply. must come on here more often.
Had tons of hassles, including loosing my divert service for a period, which is essential for me, bills in someones elses name, loads of letters regarding directory entries, odd letters saying I have a new user (!?) on my account……
Having said that, its all gone quiet from CBS, bills are now in my name and are a lot cheaper than before…. not certain if I still own my phone number or not though.

mmm….after a year of lower bills, have now been stung with a huge usage bill this quarter….
Anyone else found this happens after a year or so? do we need to renew?

    Hi Mark,
Check that you have made these call and that this isn’t a mistake by BT. In general it works well. I’ve been with them a few years now, but occasionally they get me confused with other CBS clients and you have to get Steve to sort it out or phone BT yourself. I once got signed up to a chargeable directory entry without requesting it, but BT sorted it out easily and credited me for the charge.
You don’t have to renew it; you stay with them automatically until you cancel.
    Best wishes,
    Geoff

    Re: CBS

to sum up then, did finally get a credit from BT (but only after they had taken my direct debit for the inflated bill). I had to do the phoning myself to get this done, BT never called me back as they said they would so it took several calls and sitting at home instead of working to sort out. Steve at CBS just forwarded my emails to someone at BT but with no real response. No one has given me a reason for the inflated usage charges and it remains to be seen if my next quarter bill is back to normal levels or not.

    Re: CBS

I received a credit from BT on the bill following my phone call to them to complain about the directory charge. To be fair it was quick and straightforward and there was no argument, and there were no further unauthorised charges after the credit. But I never received a credit note or any paperwork about it, just a lower bill the next month. Now you’ve had the credit it’ll probably be back to normal.
