ParticipantHi
I have recently installed a new Element on my Electric Oven Grill, however when i have the setting on grill oven, only the outer element work, but when i change it to oven, then only the inner element works. I have been trying to figure out why both doesn’t work, as it used to before the change.
Any ideas? Could it be thermostat?
Thanks

Moderatordouble check you have them correct
normally the grill element is just the middle element unless the cooker has to grill settings in which case small grill is just the middle and large grill is both elements
in convection oven mode only the outer element is used

thats correct
no 1 is convection oven. uses outer element plus another element under the floor
No 2 is grill which is the inner element

ParticipantThanks Dave
So do both elements not work together? Before the replacement the oven used to get much warmer (hotter) and both elements used to work at the same time, so i have been told by the missus.
When you say,”plus another element under the floor” what do you mean? Should there be another element i might need to consider?
Thanks once again

Moderatorwhen working as an oven it works with 2 elements and one is under the floor of the oven
get lots of them where customer complains oven does not get hot enough and the lower element has failed

ParticipantThanks Dave,
Apologies for asking stupid question, but where do i find the this “under the floor of the oven” element?
Or is it the back where the fan is? Like in the diagram?
Thanks

Moderatoryour oven is a multi function oven
you can use it in fan oven mode or convection mode or convection fan modefan mode uses an element at the rear
convection mode uses top and bottom elementslower element is probably this one
