ParticipantHi…2 question, 1 general, 1 model specific
Recently had this built in washer/dryer installed with new kitchen install.
The wash times seem to take approx twice as long as previous free standing bosch washer (at least 2hrs on CDA for wash only)…any ideas if this is normal [ie. was the Bosch fast?]
The general question, when spinning at 1200 rpm there is a large amount of vibration pass through the worktop/sink/room above/general whole house but I believe the install to have been done professionally enough (although I’ve not checked the feet etc. yet). Just wondering how much vibration I should expect [p.s. chipboard flooring underneath]..wondered if anyone had any tips to improve the situation before the new kitchen rattles itself to bits.
many thanks

Hi,
Yes 2 hours or more is “normal” on most new A wash class machines.
For more on vibration have a read at this article which should explain in depth but, it is almost without doubt, not the machine and the installation that’s the problem I’m afraid.
Depends how it’s installed on whether it can be improved but there should be a few tips in that article as well as some that it’s linked to.

Don’t forget it also has a 7.5kg wash load

this might sound sad but I’m sat with the instruction manual infront of me now (reporting a leak) and wash load is 6kg…
currently looking at adding some support underneath the joists under the washer to see if that improves things..
thanks

Correct.
Machine must sit square on all four feet. The feet, especially, if extended, must be locked off with the locking nuts to stabilise the casing. If you didn’t install this yourself, I’d be checking that all transit packaging and bolts have been removed.
You will get charged by the repairers for installation issues.

thanks…..washer was installed by kitchen fitters as part of a kitchen overhall…
had a look at the feet & all looks ok there….will keep investigating..
I’m assuming that if a transit bolt had been left in there would be a bigger problem when spinning up than my vibration issues (although I could be wrong…)
cheers

Hi
The most common cause is that the installers CANNOT READ instructions !!!.
There are 2 yellow foam tubes that are inside the appliance that stops the drum moving during transit,These are rarely removed and will cause vibration.
Turn off the appliance fully.(water as well as electric)
Pull the machine out and tip back slightly and look under inside the machine towards the sides and they will be easily seen.
