CDA CW496 Detergent Flap not opening

Hi, My daughter’s bought a house with a CDA CW496 dishwasher which has worked ok for a year but now the detergent dispenser flap isn’t opening.

Is this a common fault and is it repairable, preferably by myself, otherwise by a tradesman, but how much would this cost approximately please? She lives in Sheffield.

Yes, fairly common and it’s a Whirlpool dishwasher really under the badge.

The dispenser is supplied as a complete kit, which is available here:

The solenoid on it will be faulty and you can’t get them separately I’m afraid.

Easy enough yes, you need to open the door up but it’s not that hard from memory.

Cheers, I assume there a screws around the periphery etc. I’ll have a recce next time I’m up that way before ordering the part.

Hi, Just received the replacement soap dispenser, but it looks nothing like the original, or the picture on the website? Is this right? Also there’s a spare spray arm in the pack?

It modified by Whirlpool and there should be instructions in with the kit. 😉
