Switch assembly tested in situ (unplugged) shows closed. When removed it shows open circuit. Is this correct? Impeller spins very freely, blown through to spin same and test magnet on hub but switch shows about 800 ohms. I know it should be open or closed! Tested switch with magnet and it works fine. I am thinking of resoldering the reed switch in a differant plain to see if it will operate more efficiently as it may have lost a bit of “springyness” (forgive technical term)Anyone done this? So at standstill. is the switch supposed to be open or closed
Cheers Dave. Should have twigged it was a pulse counter from the off, but didn’t. Duff meter lead didn’t help either!! Finally traced to faulty core where it flexes as it goes into bottom of door trunk (only one strand).Soldered same and eased the radius slightly. Used the test function too for the first time, didn’t know you could do that. My sincere thanks to you and the other mods for one heck of a site. Stuey
