Haven’t been out to this yet and before i do i would appreciate a second opinion on the possible fault. Dishwasher is tripping the rcd about 30 to 40 minutes into the wash (plate drying cycle) large clouds of steam when the door is opened too. Now i would normally say the heater (inline type) but it appears to work fine when heating the water and if it’s a stat problem wouldn’t it still cause a problem when it heated the water at the beginning? and this fault is intermittent :bang: any ideas?

It’s a Haier, so Q1: Do you really want to get involved?

    Yes, it’ll be the heater.

Thanks for the confirmation on that Penquin. to answer your question, i have to as i’m a agent for CDA but i would hope that this job is a walk in the park compared to the struggle i had with a Bosch heater unit recently.

IIRC you can just about do this from the rhs and don’t have to remove the base, which is a pain on these machines. It’s not difficult to change. Check the motor wiring connector block isn’t lying on the base while you’ve got it apart.

Dont forget your skinny jubilee clips. 35-50mm iirc.

Don’t think you need them [the slim ones] for the heater Simon; only for the circ pump on the Whirlpool built ones.

PS: why the screw that holds the drain pump to the sump is fitted the wrong way round ill never figure out.

Yes I’ve often wondered that 😯 ; I sometimes put it back the other way round and sometimes the way it came out. It doesn’t matter though as it’s only there to stop the pump rotating, not to clamp the two surfaces together.
