CDA Fridge Freezer

I Have an CDA American style freezer model PC71SC and the temperature has gone warm (room Temperature) in both the fridge and the freezer. Could the thermostat have gone or any advise on what it could be please

pull the unit out, find the compressor (black domed unit) and see if it

A) sounds like its running then is a gas problem or compressor failure
B) feels hot but not running Then the compressor has not started so its either the start device or a failed compressor
c) feels cold then its either a thermostat or a blown overload on the motor
