    Hi all

(BEFORE I BEGIN I HAVE CHECKED THAT THE CLOCK IS SET)

I am a landlord that has this appliance in. The item is 2 years 6 months old and has recently developed a fault. I rang CDA today and they are unwilling to help because it is 6 months over its 2 year warranty. They did however offer a call out charge of £100 and extra for parts. Bear in mind I only paid £280 + VAT for the item brand new so I’m not going for that.

    So, the technical problem is:
The top small grill works. The bottom oven doesn’t now get hot and the fan doesn’t spin. The light inside the oven IS illuminated though. So, I was contemplating calling an independent engineer out but the price seems daft compared to a new device. So, taking into account this EXACT MODEL if I go ahead and buy a replacement item is it just a simple case of me rewiring it to a plug or is this device professionally wired (meaning it would be too much of a job for me)? To muddy the waters further I would prefer not to buy another CDA product given the way this item has failed in such a short length of time (with no support). With this in mind I would be grateful if you guys could suggest an alternative oven from a budget brand that is the EXACT same size as this oven and is wired in the same manner (can I do the wiring or do I need a professional)? Basically, I just want to go and buy a replacement item. Easily remove the existing one and slip a new appliance in without any electrical danger. If it helps the label says:

    Brand: matrix
    Model: MD720SS/1
    Rated Voltage: 240Vac, 50Hz
    Rated Input: 4.3kW MAX
    The CDA Group Ltd.

The manual front page says: MD720 Built-Under Double Oven / MD920 Built-In Double Oven

    Thanks in advance.
